CLSI Publishes New MALDI-TOF MS Microbiology Document

Wayne, Pennsylvania, USA — The Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute has published the microbiology guideline Methods for the Identification of Cultured Microorganisms Using Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (M58-Ed1).

Methods for the Identification of Cultured Microorganisms Using Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (M58-Ed1) (http://shop.clsi.org/microbiology-documents/M58.html) provides performance, reporting, and quality assurance recommendations for the identification of cultured microorganisms by microbiology laboratory professionals using matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF MS). Recommendations for end-user verification and workflow integration are also included.
