Serving on a governance committee (an advisory committee to the Board of Directors) can be one of the most rewarding experiences of a CLSI career. It can also serve as a means to attain a more strategic volunteer position such as a member of the Board of Directors. CLSI requests nominations for volunteers to serve on four governance committees. The purpose of each committee and a general activities schedule are outlined below. Specific constituency representative needs are also included.
* Constituency balance is not required for this committee. For governance committees requiring constituency balance, the total number of committee members representing any one constituency shall not exceed by more than one the number of representatives from the other two constituencies.

Governance committee members serve a one-year term beginning on January 1 and ending on December 31. Eligible members may be reappointed for up to four consecutive terms.
