About CLSI

Collaborating for a Common Cause

Together we’re advancing diagnosis so patients can receive the life-saving treatments they need.

As an outreach arm of CLSI, GHP is uniquely qualified to provide laboratories with how-to materials and hands-on training that enable them to implement high-quality, standardized practices. We work with a number of partners that have supplemental capabilities, working together to help us all achieve our goals more effectively.

Our Partners

African Society for Laboratory Medicine

The African Society for Laboratory Medicine (ASLM) is a membership organization for African laboratory professionals. ASLM is committed to improving diagnostic services and increasing patient access to high-quality laboratory testing across the continent.

CLSI has had a significant presence with ASLM since its launch in 2011:

  • Glen Fine, Chief Executive Officer of CLSI, and Fran Ingersoll, Director, Global Health Partnerships, represented CLSI at the ASLM launch meeting in Addis Abba, Ethiopia in March.
  • Glen Fine co-chaired the committee tasked with revising the assessment checklist for the newly designed World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa (WHO-AFRO)/ASLM laboratory recognition program, Stepwise Laboratory Improvement Process Towards Accreditation (SLIPTA).
  • Glen Fine was also co-chair of the program committee for the 2012 ASLM Conference in Cape Town, South Africa in December.
  • Karen McClure, Vice President, Global Health Partnerships, sits on the editorial board.
  • Patrick Mateta, Senior International Program Manager, Global Health Partnerships, is a member of the Independent Advisory Committee for ASLM.
