In 2012, CLSI published an updated edition of GP17—Clinical Laboratory Safety. This presentation will discuss the major revisions of the document and how to use that information to improve laboratory safety culture. The field of laboratory safety is ever changing, and GP17 discusses topics such as engineering controls, personal protective equipment, the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), and Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease.
