National Nurses Week

5/4/2018

This week is National Nurses Week. CLSI celebrates our dedicated nursing colleagues by recognizing the important work they do and the special interprofessional relationship shared between nurses and laboratorians. In most hospital settings, nurses work closely with laboratorians. They are often responsible for performing phlebotomy and newborn screening procedures, as well as point-of-care testing and blood cultures.

National Nurses Week begins each year on May 6th and ends on May 12th, Florence Nightingale's birthday. Many events across the US are held to honor nurses for the work they do, and to educate the public about the work nurses do day-to-day.
