CLSI Celebrates World Standards Day
10/18/2018
The US Celebration of World Standards Day, an event that recognizes the critical role of various stakeholders across the standards community, including business leaders, industry, academia, and government, will be held in Washington, DC on October 18, 2018.
World Standards Day began in 1970, and is now recognized and celebrated around the world. US activities are organized annually by a planning committee consisting of representatives from the standards and conformity assessment community. The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) will serve as the event’s 2018 administrating organization in celebration of ANSI’s 100th anniversary.
A not-for-profit membership organization accredited by ANSI since 1977 as a voluntary consensus standards organization, the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) brings together the global laboratory community to foster excellence in laboratory medicine. CLSI’s unique process of developing clinical laboratory testing standards based on input from and consensus among industry, government, and health care professionals ensures fairness and balance.
