CLSI EP37 Volunteer Application

CLSI EP37 | Tables for Interference Testing in Clinical Chemistry, 3rd Edition

CLSI EP37 is a supplemental database to the CLSI EP07 guideline that contains suggested concentrations of potentially interfering substances to be examined by a developer (manufacturers and laboratories that create laboratory-developed tests) when relevant for a given measurement procedure. CLSI EP37 will be updated to include the latest references and address challenging testing concentrations. The scope of this document development committee will be to evaluate the existing database to ensure the entries are appropriate and correct. No additional interferents will be added to the database at this time.

This group is looking for volunteers with:

  • Expertise in testing in validation or verification studies for endogenous or exogenous interferants

  • Expertise in toxicology and clinical chemistry

  • Expertise in interpretation of drug exposure ranges, therapeutic vs supratherapeutic levels

  • Expertise in regulatory and standards requirements relating to interference testing

Estimated Timeline 

  • Week of 20-24 April 2026: First meeting (may include review of document scope and outline, assignment of writing teams)
  • April 2026 June 2027: Drafting of document (higher-intensity volunteer time period)
  • June 2027 to July 2027: Voting period for draft document
  • August 2027 to January 2028: Revision of draft based on comments received during voting
  • February 2028: Expected Final Draft approval date
