Malvern, PA—Glen Fine, the Chief Executive Officer of the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI), announced he’s retiring effective Spring 2022. For 17 years Fine has served as the head of the globally recognized standards development organization in the field of laboratory medicine.

“Glen’s role as the leader of CLSI and his contributions to the medical laboratory standards industry is substantial,” said Dr. Victor Waddell, Bureau Chief, Arizona State Public Health Laboratory, Phoenix; and CLSI Board President. “Under Glen’s leadership, CLSI has dramatically increased its global relevance and significantly improved the quality of laboratory medicine for laboratorians and patients around the world. Glen’s dedication and commitment has made CLSI a highly respected organization throughout the world. We look forward to continuing to work with Glen through a smooth transition.”

CLSI has formed a volunteer committee to lead the CEO search with the assistance of the executive search firm Korn Ferry.

“It has been my honor to lead CLSI and a pleasure to have worked with incredible volunteers, staff, members, and customers,” said Fine. “As CLSI enters its next chapter, I have confidence in the strength of the organization. The staff and volunteers are dedicated, equipped, and ready for the future. I look forward to working together as we enter this next phase.”
