Consensus Council

CLSI requests nominations for volunteers to serve as voting members for the Consensus Council. Representatives from the professions, government, and industry constituencies are needed.

The CLSI Consensus Council:

  • Serves as the consensus body for CLSI
  • Approves projects confirming consensus for project development based on medical utility, clinical relevance, and CLSI’s mission
  • Evaluates concerns regarding delays in project development and implements proposed intervention process as needed
  • Votes on Final Draft documents to confirm adherence to their respective development processes and approves documents and products for final production
  • Appoints document development committee (DDC) chairholders and vice-chairholders, ensuring appropriate expertise of incumbents
  • Replaces an Expert Panel (ExP) or DDC chairholder and/or vice-chairholder, when deemed necessary and/or appropriate

Term of service
Consensus Council members serve a one-year term beginning on 01 January and ending on 31 December. Eligible members may be reappointed for up to four consecutive terms.

Schedule
The CLSI Consensus Council meets regularly (ie, monthly) via zoom conference. As needed, a face-to-face meeting may be scheduled annually if needed. Face-to-face meetings are generally held during the January CLSI Committees Week meeting.
