This year's theme is "Empowering pharmacists for healthier futures," which focuses on disease prevention, access to health care, and bolstering health system sustainability.

Pharmacists serve patients every day, not just through managing and distributing medications, but also through offering health advice, health screenings, administering vaccinations, and promoting health literacy within their communities. But as health care needs continue to evolve, empowering and supporting our pharmacists is more important than ever before.
As one of the most vital patient-facing health care professionals, pharmacists are critical in addressing public health issues such as noncommunicable diseases, health care sustainability, and constantly changing demographics that call for more innovation and specialized care. This is why World Pharmacist Day also serves as a reminder to governments, policymakers, health insurers, and regulators to support pharmacists so that they can continue to perform their vital work and ensure they hold a prominent place in every public health system.
